Connections Blossom Between Employers and Job Seekers at Spring Forward Hiring Event
BELL COUNTY, Texas – Workforce Solutions of Central Texas and the Texas Veterans Commission helped connect nearly 500 job seekers with more than 80 employers at the Spring Forward Hiring Event on Wednesday, February 22nd.
The event was held simultaneously from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at our career centers in Killeen, Temple, Rockdale and Lampasas. The event in Lampasas was virtual and some employers participated in multiple locations.
Job seekers were able to meet with local and national employers from various industries, such as: manufacturing, healthcare, government, transportation, and many more.
Feedback from the employers has been very positive. Many employers said they received pages filled with job connections. Others said they received a handful of resumes and had scheduled upcoming interviews with candidates.
“I ended up with a line at my table. I have two candidates coming to a site visit this week. Getting our name out there and having people want to talk with us was an absolute blessing. It was truly the best experience I’ve had with a hiring event,” said Lee Wright, a recruiter for Mavagi Enterprises, Inc.
The Spring Forward Hiring Event is the first of four regional hiring events Workforce Solutions of Central Texas hosts throughout the year.
The next hiring event is the Graduate Pathways Hiring Event on Thursday, April 13th at the Bell County Expo Center.
