Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Announces Retirement of Longtime Executive Director
BELTON, TX — Workforce Solutions of Central Texas (WSCT) announces the upcoming retirement of its Executive Director, Susan Kamas, effective February 2025, after an extraordinary career spanning 50 years in the workforce industry, including 36 years of dedicated leadership in Central Texas.
Under Susan’s leadership, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas has become a state and national leader in workforce development, consistently recognized for excellence in connecting job seekers and employers across Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas, Milam, Mills, and San Saba counties.
A Legacy of Leadership and Impact
Susan’s visionary leadership has guided Workforce Solutions of Central Texas to significant achievements, including:
- Managing a $45+ million annual budget supporting workforce programs, public employment services, and competitive grants.
- Establishing Workforce Solutions of Central Texas as a key resource for veterans and military families in the Fort Cavazos community.
- Receiving the Texas Quality Award for Performance Excellence and being recognized as one of the Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in Texas for 13 consecutive years.
Beyond her work in Central Texas, Susan has held influential roles at the state and national levels, serving as Co-Chair of the U.S. Department of Labor Enterprise Council and as a founding member of the Coalition of State Workforce Associations.
A Life of Service
Susan’s commitment to public service extends beyond workforce development. She has been deeply involved in numerous community and professional organizations, including:
