Temple College Wins Award at Texas Workforce Conference
BELTON, Texas – Workforce Solutions of Central Texas (WSCT) is proud to recognize Temple College with the 2022 Texas All-Star College Award. Temple College accepted the award at the Texas Workforce Commission’s (TWC) 25th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held November 30–December 2, 2022, in Dallas. The award celebrates a community college, technical college or Texas engineering extension service whose efforts and partnership improve the Texas workforce system and local community by identifying, creating and contributing to skills enhancement and training to best support business needs.
“Temple College was selected because of the comprehensive approach it takes to workforce development. It works directly with industries to build new and modify existing training and programming to meet the needs of employers and address the skills gaps,” said WSCT Deputy Executive Director Linda Angel.
Some of the highlighted Temple College programs included the “Go to Work” program, which combines workforce and community partner resources to provide students with short-term training and an industry-recognized credential leading to employment in just one week, as well as the Texas Upskilling and Reskilling grant program that helps students return to college to finish what they started.
“The All-Star College Award highlights the importance of partnerships between Workforce Solutions and Texas colleges,” said TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel. “It exemplifies innovation and commitment to each employer to be a genuine partner in developing a skilled labor force.”
TWC honors Texas Workforce Development Boards for exemplary service to their communities. Workforce Solutions of Central Texas was recognized during the 2022 Texas Workforce Conference with an award for Service to Job Seekers.
