Workforce Solutions of Central Texas Partners with Fort Cavazos for Annual Hiring Red, White & You! Hiring Event
FORT CAVAZOS, Texas – Workforce Solutions of Central Texas is honored to announce its continued partnership with Fort Cavazos to host the annual Hiring Red, White & You! Hiring Event. This year’s event will take place on Wednesday, November 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lone Star Conference Center on Fort Cavazos, aiming to connect veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and civilians with a wide array of career opportunities.
The Killeen-Temple metro area boasts a remarkable and substantial veteran population, with at least 65,000 veterans residing in our community. This number significantly surpasses the national average for areas of similar size, which typically hovers around 25,300 veterans. Workforce Solutions of Central Texas takes great pride in being situated in a region with such a strong military presence, and we deeply appreciate the unique skills, dedication, and experience that veterans bring to the workforce.
More than 150 employers from Texas and neighboring states will attend this event, recruiting across various industries to strengthen the local workforce and support Texans who served.
“Our partnership with Fort Cavazos and our commitment to veterans reflects Workforce Solutions of Central Texas’s deep respect for military service and our resolve to help service members and their families find meaningful careers,” said Susan Kamas, Executive Director of Workforce Solutions of Central Texas. “Veterans bring invaluable skills, resilience, and leadership to Texas businesses, and events like Hiring Red, White & You! ensure they have access to opportunities that allow them to thrive in the workforce.”
The Hiring Red, White & You! event is a part of the annual statewide initiative hosted by the Texas Workforce Commission, now celebrating its 13th year. Texas is home to more than 1.5 million veterans, and it is our privilege to join hands with the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Veterans Commission, Texas Medical Center, Transition Assistance Program, and fellow workforce partners across the state to provide this essential service.
While this hiring event prioritizes connecting veterans and military families with employers, it is also open to civilians. All attendees must have a military ID or a visitor pass from the Marvin Leath Visitors Welcome Center. Registration is not required to attend.
