Funding for the skills and training you need to level up.
The workplace is evolving and you will have to continually invest in updating your skills and training in order to succeed in your career. If lack of funding is an issue, we’ll review your information and help you figure out how to use our programs to pay for the training or education you need to meet your education and career goals.
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas
Education & Training
One of our main goals is to increase the skillset of the Central Texas labor force. Because of this, grant programs focus on degree and certification programs in high-demand occupations of the region. To be considered for assistance, we must verify you are eligible and use formal testing to evaluate your ability to successfully complete the program of study.
*A criminal background check may be required for some programs, including medical and truck driving.
Some of the common documents that we ask for may include:
– Social Security Card
– Photo identification, such as driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued documents
– Birth Certificate or Alien Registration Card, indicating the right to work or citizenship
– Selective Service documentation
– Pay stubs, tax returns, or other documentation showing how much money you make or made
– Lay off notices or letters if you’ve recently been laid off or lost a job due to the business closing.
– Check with a Grant Program Specialist to see what other documents you may need for your specific case.
Training agencies and training programs must be on the Eligible Training Providers List.
This list represents occupations in the area with a high demand for qualified workers. This list will change periodically based on the local economy, labor market conditions and availability of funding. To qualify for grants, you must first be accepted into one of the programs on this list.
Almost all of our grants are awarded to
students with financial need.
If you are interested in our grants, or in any federal student aid, you have to start by submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid form. You have to fill out the FAFSA form every year you’re in school in order to stay eligible for federal student aid.
