Summer Hiring Event to Fill Thousands of Positions
BELL COUNTY, Texas – Workforce Solutions of Central Texas is partnering with the Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas Veterans Leadership Program for the annual Summer Surge Hiring Event.
Thousands of jobs need to be filled in Central Texas. The reason there are so many job opportunities is not because no one wants to work. It is because there aren’t as many workers coming into the workforce as there are leaving. More jobs, fewer workers.
From 2016 to 2021, jobs increased in Central Texas by 1.2% from 203,865 to 206,388, according to Charley Ayres, Director of Industry and Education Partnerships at WSCT.
“Even during the pandemic, Central Texas continued to see growth in the economy and the job market. We are now below pre-pandemic unemployment rates, but the job market continues to grow because of the robust Central Texas economy,” Ayres said.
Dozens of companies will be present. This is the perfect opportunity for individuals to find a job that suits them. Companies are offering better benefits, more pay, training, and flexible schedules to help lure candidates.
