BELTON, Texas – On Thursday, April 13th, the annual Graduate Pathways Hiring Event connected more than 800 Central Texas high school and college seniors with nearly 70 employers at the Bell County Expo Center.
Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, in partnership with the P20 Central Texas Regional Council assisted with hosting the event. The Chambers of Commerce in Belton, Temple and Killeen also contributed.
School districts from across Central Texas transported students by bus to attend. Those districts include: Killeen ISD, Temple ISD, Belton ISD, Holland ISD, Lampasas ISD and Academy ISD.
Students were well-prepared for the event. They had resumes on hand, were dressed for success, and exuded confidence while speaking with employers. They connected with employers from various industries such as healthcare, government, education, manufacturing, and technology. Some students were even interviewed on the spot!
It was a great opportunity for employers to meet the future of our workforce and for students to gain job-searching experience.
“The resounding success of the Central Texas Graduates Hiring Event, with an impressive turnout of 67 employers and 807 well-prepared students, exemplifies the power of connecting opportunities with potential.
